The Arapahoe County FCA Advisory Board is made up of dynamic members of the South Denver community who have a heart for coaches, athletes and the ministry of FCA. All of them volunteer their time to help Arapahoe County FCA with ministry and talent advancement, event planning, and donor development. We are grateful to each member of our board for the gifts of their time, talent and financial support.
Joel Bundick is the pastor of Community of Grace Church in Centennial. A husband, father, and grandfather, he serves a pastoral role on the Arapahoe County FCA board, always ready to bring encouragement from the Word and offering training for board members in how to share their faith in practical ways. His history with FCA goes back to when he was a coach and huddle leader at Abilene Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas, from 1995-2000. "I believe in the importance and value of reaching the influencers in our society with the gospel of Jesus Christ," he says. "Coaches and athletes are some of the greatest influencers in our western culture."
David Martin works in sales and lives in Jefferson County with his wife and three sons. A former baseball player at a Christian college, Martin understands the impact of sports and faith in a person's life. "I believe in the leadership of Arapahoe County FCA and want to support it in making an impact," he says.
Kevin McGill works in health care management and was drawn to serve on Arapahoe County FCA's board after he recently launched an FCA huddle for a tackle football team that he helps coach. A husband and father of four, two of whom are actively involved in sports, he sees his involvement in FCA as a way to build and invest in something around his passions. "Our children need to know there is more to life and sports than just what they see," he says. "They were created for purpose that will go far beyond their capabilities on a field or court, and that message and purpose must be Jesus. I believe it's the only way anyone will find true purpose and meaning in life."
Jeff Porter is the CEO and founder of Handbid, an auction software company. A husband and father of three, Porter lends his expertise and perspective to help Arapahoe County FCA with messaging and fundraising events. "Reaching kids in school through sports and introducing them to God's message is an incredible avenue," he says.
Ben Ramsey is Care Pastor at Eastern Hills Community Church and is the head wrestling coach at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch. Married with three children, Ramsey served as president of his FCA chapters when he was in middle school and high school. His heart is to see doors for the Gospel opened up in schools. "FCA allows student athletes to invite their friends and teammates to a place where they will hear the Gospel and have a community that experiences Jesus," he says.
Kurt Rhea, a husband and father of two, is president and CEO of Rad Pros, an environmental services company in Arapahoe County. His desire is to encourage staff, coaches and students within FCA. "However I can help young people find hope and purpose in our crazy world is a worthy cause," he says.
Jim Tarbell works in the leasing and finance industry. He plays plenty of golf, skis and has watched a lot of youth sports as a father and grandfather. His desire is to see the number of FCA staff members in south Denver grow. "I see the difference FCA makes and see what a great opportunity there is to tell coaches and athletes about Jesus," he says.
Jay Weber is a technology business owner whose love of sports naturally drew him to the ministry of FCA. A husband and father of three, he enjoys sharing his experience in business to help improve Arapahoe County FCA. "There is a crisis of faith in America right now with the Bible and faith being chased out everywhere we look," he says. "FCA is a way to keep faith in schools, and to continue to influence our children for good."
